Welcome to the celebration of a century

The Swedish National Union of Students (SFS) was founded on the 19th of March 1921 by the student unions in Lund, Gothenburg, Stockholm and Uppsala. The purpose of SFS was to strive for closer cooperation between the unions and to represent Swedish students in international matters.

This evening is for the student movement of past and present, and the whole sector for higher education. We welcome you to celebrate the history and our unified future.

101 years. And counting.

Update regarding the venue

Due to restrictions from the venue we’ve had to change the location for the anniversary celebrations from Stockholm City Hall to Clarion Hotel on Ringvägen 98 in Stockholm. The new venue is a beautiful and spacious banquet hall with a great view over the city and we are super excited to have the celebrations with you there.

About the dress code
We have also gotten some questions regarding the dresscode “black tie”. It often refers to a tuxedo, but to clarify, it’s okay to wear a less formal suit as well. Whatever makes you comfortable.

When it comes to dresses, black tie often refers to a dress that goes at least to knee-length, often floor-length dress or cocktail-dress. Also here, wear what makes you comfortable. We also want to remind you that the last date to buy tickets are February 14th, so make sure to remind someone who hasn't bought one yet to do so.

See you soon!

We at SFS hope that you are just as excited as we are to celebrate our 100 year anniversary and we are looking forward to seeing you on the 19th of March.

Best regards, Swedish National Union of Students

Regarding the covid-19 pandemic

SFS are abiding to rules and regulations from the Swedish government regarding the covid-19 pandemic. As of the 9th of February, governmental restrictions have been lifted, which means we can go ahead with the celebrations as originally planned! However, as the pandemic is still ongoing, we have reduced the number of participants in order to make everyone feel more comfortable. We will not control proof of vaccination, but unvaccinated people are still recommended not to participate in larger indoor events.

If the event needs to be cancelled due to new covid-19 restrictions, your ticket can be refunded.
